According to a recent article dated November 2, 2008 by San Jose Mercury News writer Lisa Fernandez states that Indian Weddings buck the trend that affect most of us in the wedding business. She says that Indian Weddings have not slowed down during these tough economic times like their American counterparts. According to the Lisa Fernandez, Indian parents save for their daughters wedding as they would save for college. They have saved and planned for their daughter's wedding day for a long time unlike most American couples who have to pay the wedding on their own.
The Bridal Association of America says an average American wedding costs approximately $28,000 with an average guest list of 175 people. Indian weddings cost anywhere from $50,000 to $75,000 with an average of 500 people on the guest list. With all those people eating and enjoying the party, the size of the banquet halls needed to accommodate these weddings. Big weddings equal bigger budgets, there is just no way around it.

It's a a very nice story and it's true that Indian wedding are of great fun as they respect their rituals a lot. I got a chance of attending an Indian wedding and there i came across with their traditions.
